Projeqt: Your teaching narrative goes mobile (and online)
Projeqt is promoted as a digital story-telling platform. Which is great for us as educators. Knowledge, culture and behaviour have been passed down through history using stories. We do the same whether its through our taught content, sharing experiences, case studies, assessment etc. we are creating or re-telling narratives. Projeqt let’s us present our stories quickly and easily via the web.
I came across Projeqt while searching for tools and platforms that would match my ‘story’ metaphor and be compatible with as many devices as possible. According to the creators of Projeqt it is a storytelling platform that works on any HTML 5 capable browser so that means computer, tablet and some smartphones. Continue reading

Higher Education Institutional Research 2011: My Presentation

[UPDATE] I actually got quite a bit more than 10 minutes and was very lucky to receive the leeway from the conference chair!

As a result, electronic portfolios or e-Portfolios have proliferated and become commonplace in education and a number of organizations. They have in a number of instances been unsuccessful in getting learners engaged with using them, especially where their use is not deemed as mandatory. Continue reading

This is another semi short write up from the Blended Learning Tips and Techniques session that I ran back in February. I’ve made the presentation available via slideshare. This post considers the use of text based representations as advance organizers and invites discussion about possible and current uses. Would be great to get some contributions. Continue reading

Using Paper.li as an educational device

Change Management Paper.li used in an MSc Change Management Module
This is a (kind of) short write up for part of a presentation that I did for the first Blended Learning Tips and Techniques session all the way back in February. It considers the use of Paper.li as an educational device and makes some suggestions as to how it could be used. It’s taken me a very long time to write but then in my defence there are very, very good reasons for that! Continue reading
